Metal Chain Conductivity

چکیده

Scientists have achieved the ultimate speed limit of the control of spins in a solid state magnetic material. The rise of the digital information era posed a daunting challenge to develop ever faster and smaller devices for data storage and processing. An approach which relies on the magnetic moment of electrons (i.e. the spin) rather than the charge, has recently turned into major research fields, called spintronics and magnonics. [11]

1D-to-3D transition of phonon heat conduction in polyethylene using molecular dynamics simulations

Experiments have demonstrated that the mechanical stretching of bulk polyethylene can increase its thermal conductivity by more than two orders of magnitude, from 0.35 W/mK to over 40W/mK, which is comparable to steel. This strong effect is believed to arise from the increased alignment of the constituent polymer chains, which are thought to have very high thermal conductivity. Although it is w...

Electronic and Resonance Raman Spectra of the Linear Chain Mixed Valence Compound Pt(NH3)2(SCN)2I

Partially oxidized linear chain transition metal complexes have found widespread interest recently, mainly because some such solids, with directly interacting metal ions in the chains, behave like one-dimensional metals [1-4]. The electrical conductivity of the linear hahde bridged species (mainly of the Wolffram's salt type) is, on the other hand, quite low [5-8]. Many of the linear-chain mixe...

Chain structure and electronic states of liquid Rb-Se mixtures by ab initio molecular-dynamics simulations

The effects of excess electronic charges transferred from alkali metals to Se atoms on the chain structure in liquid RbxSe1−x for x 0.5 are investigated by means of ab initio molecular-dynamics simulations. It is found that the interaction between Se chains is enhanced by the transferred electrons, and that the average length of Se chains becomes shorter with increasing alkali-metal concentrati...

Some Peculiarities of Proton Transport in Quasi-One-Dimensional Hydrogen-Bonded Chains

The protonic conductivity in the hydrogen bonded chains is investigated theoretically in the framework of the two-stage transport model. The strong interactions with optical phonon stretching mode are considered. We obtain the transition from the insulator to the metal-type state from the temperature dependencies of the hopping conductivity and analyze the influence of the specific Grotthuss me...

The interaction of long chain sodium carboxylates and sodium dodecylsulfate with lead(II) ions in aqueous solutions.

The interaction of sodium octanoate, decanoate or dodecanoate with lead(II) has been studied in aqueous solutions using potentiometry, electrical conductivity, turbidity and ICP-OES measurements. These show an alkyl chain length dependence on the behavior. At the lead(II) concentration used (1.0 mM), relatively strong interactions are observed with the decanoate and dodecanaote, leading to form...

Electrical conductivity and defect chemistry of Ba x Sr 1 x Co y Fe 1 y O 3 d perovskites

Bulk BaxSr1 xCoyFe1 yO3 d compositions (BSCF) were synthesized by the solid-state reaction method. The electrical conductivity of ceramic bars was measured using a dc four-probe method as a function of temperature in air up to 970 °C. All compositions showed thermally activated p-type semi-conductivity up to ~450 °C and then a transition to metal-like conductivity. The smallpolaron hopping p-ty...
